Political stability. Strong economic growth and Turkey’s solid government warrant a long-term approach to safe and profitable exploration & mining. This is underlined by the consideration of Turkey becoming member of the European Union. A highly important pipeline is currently built through eastern Turkey to bring oil from the southern Caspian Sea to the Turkish Mediterranean coast for shipment to Europe and elsewhere.

  • Infrastrucural development. In the past decades, Turkey has systematically enlarged its country-wide road system, with particular emphasis to development of remote areas. There are 4x4 passable roads to almost any mountain in Turkey. Creation of numerous dam-lakes guarantees electricity and water supplies in sufficient quantity to any part of the country.
  •
  • Turkey's new mining law from 2004 offers very attractive conditions for exploration and mining. The mining royalty for use of government land is only 2% for on-site finished products, such as gold-silver doré and mineral concentrates. If mining is executed on more valuable government land, such as forest, the royalty rises to 2.6%. Corporate tax is 25-30%.
  •
  • Hospitality. People in Turkey are always friendly and open to new opportunities, more so, if approached in a respectful, fair, and informative manner. Exploration & mining is not possible without local support & tolerance, which has always been granted to Aldridge. We strictly move along the lines of respect for local needs and circumstances, and of an open information policy, towards successful exploration.

  • Large deposits keep being found, such as Eldorado Gold's Kisladag project with a 7.86 Moz gold resource (open pit), of which 6.05 Moz @ 1.13 g/t Au are measured & indicated and 1.82 Moz @ 0.81 g/t Au are inferred. Another large deposit, Cöpler, is explored by Anatolia Minerals Development. The resources and reserves at Cöpler currently stand at 6.3 Moz, largely for open pit mining (central-eastern Turkey). Among the base metals, there is currently the very large Caldag lateritic nickel deposit in development, with an indicated + measured resource of 38.5 Mt @ 1.3 % Ni and 0.07 % Co (European Nickel Plc.; Western Turkey).
