Serdar Akca , VP Country Manager
Mr. Akca, B. Sc. Geologist, was born in 1965, is Turkish and has over 22 years of experience in minerals exploration. Mr. Akca started his professional work career at an Australian junior gold exploration company called Rangers Exploration in 1988 then worked for Canadian mining company, Teck-Cominco,from 1989 to 1995 as a geologist and then project geologist. During this period he was involved in many courses and training programs pertaining to exploration geology. He also contributed to the Cerattepe massive sulphide project in Artvin between 1990 and 1994. Cerattepe VMS deposit is one of the largest VMS deposit in Turkey and Mr. Akca contributed to almost every phase of this project from discovery to the feasibility stage. Mr. Akca also worked for some of the world’s largest mining companies RTZ (1995-1997), BHP (2000-2002) and WMC (2003) for over 4 years as a consultant geologist and supervised many different exploration projects all over Turkey.
Mr. Akca has been with Aldridge since 2003 and is the Company’s Country Manager, responsible for managing Aldridge’s Turkey team (13 staff employees, seasonally 20-30 employees including temporary workers), organizing all bureaucratic relations with government and other related organizations. Mr. Akca supervises all exploration programs in Turkey. Mr Akca is a member of the following organizations: Founder Member of the Gold Miners Association in Turkey; member of Turkey’s Mining Foundation; member of Turkey’s Geological Society.
Mr. Akca is based in the Ankara office.
